Griffin Smith is a writer and professor researching technology. 

A leading expert in artificial intelligence, he taught the first AI studio art courses at both Brown University and The Rhode Island School of Design. His current classes at RISD include Art and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Culture: How Computers Took Over the World, and Text Transformed: Writing in the Age of AI. 


Griffin has given lectures at Harvard University and The M.I.T. Media Lab, and served as keynote speaker for events at IBM, The New England Institute of Technology, and The Boston Urban Forum. His work has been published in Versopolis Review, and Inside Higher Ed. He earned an M.F.A. in Digital Language Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from Brown University.
